July 18, 1939 - November 16, 2022
Robert “Bobby” Emmons Chevis, after 83 years of making everyone smile, got to lie down in green pastures next to his father and mother Emmons and Lucille Chevis, and now is resting in the loving arms of Jesus.
Bobby was born in Downey, California on July 18, 1939, and lived most of his life in Stockton, California. He passed away peacefully from cancer, with no regrets, on November 16, 2022.
Bobby would reminisce about riding his bicycle, old friends he used to work with, pets he had throughout the years, and swimming. He would tell everyone he was a vegetarian but LOVED hamburgers and meatball sandwiches. He wasn’t much for group activities but did participate in a Bible study his home had twice a month, reading from a Bible lesson and then putting together a craft based on the lesson. His all-time favorite activity, however, was watching the SyFy channel and was a long-time “Star Trek” fan. He lived long and prospered and now has eternal life.
Bobby would want to thank his caregivers for all they did for him as well as the staff in the radiology department at St. Joseph’s Hospital for being so kind and making certain he had that burger before going home.
